CCIE is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to increasing diversity in the legal profession and actively recruiting, educating, and supporting private and public sector legal organizations in their own individual campaigns to create cultures of inclusion.
CCIE is dedicated to fulfilling the Vision Statement of the Deans’ Diversity Council: Diversity in the legal profession fosters both legal excellence and social equality. The Council is committed to transformation of the legal profession with the following results: By the year 2016, all Denver metro law firms and corporate legal departments will have successfully developed and implemented initiatives that create cultures of inclusion where attorneys of all backgrounds succeed without regard to gender, race, religion, national origin, disability, sexual orientation or gender expression. Realizing this Vision requires a multi-faceted approach, with work focused on pipeline, recruiting, and retention issues as well as further development of the Inclusiveness Program and targeted support for individual legal organizations seeking to transform their cultures to those that are inclusive. CCIE includes three main components as part of its vision: Community-wide effort: CCIE has proven to be a tremendous catalyst of energy and enthusiasm in the legal community to find meaningful solutions to this challenge. Innovative Solutions: CCIE's groundbreaking work in developing a six-step inclusiveness program represents a significant move toward achieving a new paradigm in the legal community concerning diversity. CCIE acts as a clearinghouse for information on diversity best practices and supports legal offices in their efforts to adopt the principles of inclusive excellence. Clear commitment to diversity: Colorado lawyers and judges are deeply committed to diversity in the legal profession. Join us in our mission to transform the legal profession to one of inclusion where attorneys of all backgrounds succeed without regard to gender, race, religion, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, or gender expression. |
